Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2025
1. Overview
Faktur (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is an invoicing tool for freelancers and small businesses. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is stored and protected.
By using Faktur, you agree to the practices described below.
2. Data we collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Account data — your email address and, optionally, your full name, provided when you register.
- Business profile — business name, email, phone number, address, bank details, and logo that you enter in your profile. This information is printed on your invoices.
- Client data — names, email addresses, phone numbers, and addresses of your clients, entered by you.
- Invoice data — line items, amounts, dates, and statuses of invoices you create.
- Usage data — basic technical information such as browser type and IP address, collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure for security purposes.
3. How we use your data
- To provide and operate the Faktur service.
- To generate and display your invoices.
- To authenticate your account and keep it secure.
- To send transactional emails (e.g., password reset).
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
4. Invoice sharing
Invoice print pages are accessible via a direct URL without authentication. Anyone who has the link can view the invoice. This is intentional — it allows you to share invoices with clients who do not have a Faktur account.
The invoice page displays your business information (as configured in your profile) and the client's details. Do not share invoice links with parties you do not intend to share that information with.
5. Data storage & security
Your data is stored securely in our database, hosted on Supabase infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS). Access to your data is restricted to your authenticated account.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration.
6. Third-party services
Faktur uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Vercel — hosting and edge delivery.
Each service has its own privacy policy. We share with them only what is technically required to operate the platform.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data in your account settings.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Export your invoice data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below.
8. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data — businesses, clients, and invoices — is permanently removed from our systems.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Faktur after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
